OUR STORY

The founding team of Adumu Limited met through the Jasiri Talent Investor Program of which they are both Simba cohort fellows. The program is run by the Allan & Gill Gray Philanthropies which selects 50 high-potential candidates to join the program and create a solution to an African problem with funding for research and development if the solution is deemed viable.

Both founders have history in the aviation industry with Jeremiah Mabiria being a pilot and Victor Wanjohi being an Aeronautical Engineer. This shared experience has not only brought them together to form a team, but also given them both educational and experiential insight into combustion and its related processes putting them in position to produce a unique solution.

Through their research into clean cooking solutions and their adoption in East Africa, the co-founders realized that there was a glaring hole in the clean institutional cooking category and even though progress had been made in introducing clean cooking solutions in residential settings not much has been done for institutional scale cooking.

After an intensive design process, the co-founders decided on biodiesel as the most viable fuel source due to its affordability, reliability and ease of use. They designed a cookstove alongside a way to integrate their biodiesel burner into already existing improved firewood stoves already in use at most institutions in East Africa. We welcome you to join us on the journey to revolutionize institutional cooking in Africa.
